Points of Zimmer Implant Abutment:
Tapered Screw-Vent® (TSV)
Fig. 1
Tapered Screw-Vent® titanium grade 5 implants are machined with a slightly tapered body geometry and triple lead thread design. The triple lead threads will force the implant at a faster rate in to the osteotomy site as compared to a single lead thread design implant. Four implant diameters (Fig.1) of 3.7, 4.1, 4.7 and 6mm in five lengths of 8, 10, 11.5, 13 and 16mm are available from Zimmer® for this implant system. 3.7 and 4.1mm diameter implants share the same implant/abutment interface (platform) of 3.5mm. 4.7mm diameter implants are machined with a 4.5mm implant/abutment interface and 6.0mm diameter implants are produced with a 5.7mm platform. The implant/abutment interface consist of a internal hexagon which is dimensioned according to the platform diameter.
Fig. 2
Each of the implants is packaged with a cover screw and color coded fixture mount. The color coding scheme is carried throughout the complete implant system for easy platform identification. Green signals the 3.5mm platform, purple signifies a 4.5mm platform and yellow corresponds to the 5.7mm platform. The fixture mount may serve as a delivery device, impression coping and temporary abutment. A oblong lacuna at the apex of the implant creates cutting surfaces and serves as a reservoir for bone chips. Two options are available in regards to the extent of the surface treatment at the coronal aspect (Fig.2) of the implat. Option one is a 1mm machined collar separating the textured area from the implant/abutment interface and option two extendes the textured area to the edge of the implant/abutment interface with added micro groves at the coronal aspect.

Screw-Vent® titanium grade 5 implants have a parallel wall body geometry and a triple lead thread design. The triple lead threads will force the implant at a faster rate in to the osteotomy site as compared to a single lead thread design implant. Three implant diameters (Fig.3) of 3.3, 3.7 and 4.7mm in four lengths of 8, 10, 13 and 16mm are available from Zimmer® for this implant system. 3.3 and 3.7mm diameter implants share the same implant/abutment interface (platform) of 3.5mm while 4.7mm diameter implants are machined with a 4.5mm implant/abutment interface. The implant/abutment interface consist of a internal hexagon which is dimensioned according to the platform diameter.
